Dr. Peter Thompson is our wonderful senior vet at The Manor Vets. Originally from South Africa, Peter has now been practising to a high level in Kent for over 20 years.
Peter is incredibly experienced in all aspects of general veterinary medicine and has an added extra interest and vast knowledge in ophthalmology. We want you to be reassured that your precious pets will be in the very best care with Peter leading our vet team.
Outside of the surgery Peter enjoys golf, rugby, hockey and also squeezes in looking after his own small holding!

Tanith BVSc MRCVS
Qualifying from the prestigious Pretoria, South Africa in 2016, Tanith joined our experienced Vet Team in early 2019.
Initially practising at our UK Vet of the Year winning hospital in Broadstairs, Kent, Tanith has broadened her client base and from 2020 can be found at our The Manor Vets.
From Tanith’s exciting time spent post qualifying in South Africa and her experience working at our busy hospital’s in London and Kent, Tanith is a highly proficient general practitioner who enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, diagnostics, eye surgery and soft tissue surgery.
Being an OV Practitioner means Tanith is readily available to give advice and issue passports/export certificates to pets wanting to travel.
Outside of the surgeries Tanith’s huge passion for small animal companions extends to her adorable rescue puppy Toto (who often tags along with her to work!). Tanith enjoys returning home to South Africa to see family and also travelling the UK visiting cities and taking in our heritage.
Samantha BVMedSci MRCVS
Qualifying from Nottingham University, Sam joined our popular Vet Team at The Manor in the Summer of 2020. Being incredibly passionate about pets and striving to be an exceptional Veterinary Surgeon, Sam began her journey as a nurse within an extremely busy veterinary hospital in London, whilst studying to obtain her ultimate goal of a veterinary degree.
Being exposed to a vast number of complex medicine and surgical cases, Sam is an extremely competent young surgeon often found performing soft tissue surgeries, eye surgeries and investigating internal medicine cases to an extremely high standard for those pets in her care.
Outside of the surgeries Sam loves to rock climb and relax with yoga however, her biggest passion would be her rescue cat Mr Mushu!
Chris has been working at our award winning Kent Hospital Briar House and The Manor Vets since 2017, being promoted to The Head Nurse at The Manor Vets in 2019. Qualifying with a veterinary nursing degree in 2014, Chris has many areas of interest as registered nurse including nurse clinics, canine behaviour and emergency care.
Outside of work Chris enjoys sports, keeping fit, cooking (a former Chef!) and spending time on DIY in his new home.
Becoming a permanent member of The Manor team in 2012, Shannon has now begun her journey to obtain a diploma in veterinary nursing. After spending many years with our team both on our reception and helping in consults and theatre, Shannon is an incredibly experienced nurse who is excited to be gaining a formal qualification in a position she loves.
Shannon took a short break in 2017 to welcome her daughter but this addition still hasn’t stopped her adding to her pet brood at home, consisting of 2 dogs and 2 cats plus feeling very maternal to the odd stray!
Lauren is an incredibly popular long standing member of our nursing support team, having originally joined The Manor in 2011. Lauren enjoys processing your insurance forms to keep on top of your pets paperwork and also loves to post interesting cases on our Facebook page.
At home, Lauren has two miniature Dachshunds called Nigel and Izzy, a Jack Russell Terrier called Ted and two naughty moggies called Poppy and Rey. In her spare time she enjoys reading, watching sci-fi films, crochet and spending time with family and friends.
Tanya originally joined our London Team in 2020 and then transferred into our The Manor later in the year to help us cope with the demand for more excellent nurses! Tanya previously worked at an Animal Rescue Centre where she had been assisting as a nurse for 7 years. Tanya has a huge interest in surgery and has a Veterinary Degree from her home country. We hope Tanya will begin studying for a nursing diploma with us in the future!
Outside of the surgeries Tanya loves to travel and at home has a lovely little dog Lucy and a very precious feline!
Jess joined our wonderful The Manor team on work experience back in 2018 before joining as a full time Veterinary Care Assistant in 2020. Jess developed an interest in biology at school and joined our team in the hope of one day training to become a Veterinary Nurse.
Jess loves animals and is the proud owner of 3 dogs, 2 cats and an assortment of reptiles!
Outside of work, she has a keen interest in fashion and make-up.
Stacey started work in the Veterinary world in 1992 and she qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1999. Shortly afterwards she became Head nurse in a very busy high level orthopaedic referral practice. After 10 years she became practice manager and oversaw the entire running of the hospital. In 2018 Stacey undertook the Certificate in Practice Management and joined us at DNA in 2019.
Stacey has always had a massive passion for any size of animal from hamsters to horses! She has quite often taken pets that need a home during a day at work and has a rescue cat called Neville & a crazy staffie called Dennis.
Laura joined our busy The Manor team in 2020 after spending many years in customer service roles helping members of the public to feel welcomed and valued. Having wanted to work with pets for quite some time, Laura can often be found helping out behind the scenes and gaining knowledge to help her better serve the important pets of Chatham.
Laura works in our surgery part time and away from the front desk can be found spending time with her young family.
